![]() About Lynn Tienken, MS, LMHC It is my pleasure and passion to counsel and coach individuals, couples and families in my private practice. I am a licensed mental health therapist and mediator. Over the past 23 years my work has focused on building healthier families, assisting parents in peacefully completing their dissolution and counseling children in schools. I have extensive training in couples' therapy and child behavior and development. I hold a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Central Washington University and Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley. Over the years I have had the opportunity to visit families in their homes. These occasions opened my eyes to the specific behavioral interactions of family members that I missed when their time with me was confined to my office. Having raised two confident sons, I am well aware that so much about a person can be seen in their natural environment--the home. It was out of my own desire "to get to issues and provide help expediently" that directed the creation of my most collaborative approach to working with families through At-Home Family Coaching. For me the deep satisfaction in this new work are the stories that parents report about "a smooth running household" and "children happily doing their choresl" Another passion is working with the rural poor in Central America. In 2004 I lived my dream of building a medical clinic in the remote town of La Guacamaya, Honduras. Today I ensure the clinic's future by sourcing medical equipment with the generous support of Rotary International and Healing the Children. |
